St. Patrick / park © Alle rechten voorbehouden The beautiful park itself is named after the nearby Cathedral of St Patrick and was laid out on the site of some of the worst slums in Dublin, if not in the whole of Northern Europe. The development of the park was funded by Lord Iveagh, Edward Cecil Guinness, of the famous brewing family, and presented by him to Dublin City Council in the 1920s.
