© Alle rechten voorbehouden The front of the church from a little distance. Every Masseling/Masselink ever born in Germany was baptized (and their funeral services held) here unless they emigrated. The first Masselings to emigrate went to the Netherlands, beginning around 1800. The political/economic situation in this area was poor back then, causing them to pull up and move away. No one leaves their country of birth without strong reason. Political and economic reasons were almost always behind that. And still are today with all migrations.
