Uelsen, De 09-10-2009 041 © Alle rechten voorbehouden Bronze plate giving information about the church.  Built in 1131 from local sandstone, the tower was built ca. 1200,  93 m high.  A lightening strike in 1683 damaged/destroyed the top half, and today the tower is but 48 m high.  The church has a seating capacity of 1000 people.
